Sunday Morning

What to Expect on Sunday?

Whether you've been in church your whole life or you're just curious about religion, we know that attending a new church can be intimidating. Here's what you can expect at FBC Medfield.

Loving Community

At FBC, we want to show the love of Christ to everyone. Because of his love for us demonstrated on the cross (Rom 5:8), we want to show our love for anyone who walks through our doors. Even if you don't know anyone at the church, you can expect to be welcomed as a friend. Before and after the service we have coffee and doughnuts available so that we can come, hang out, and encourage one another in Christ.

God-Centered Worship

As Christians, we gather on Sunday morning primarily to worship the Triune-God (Father, Son and Holy Spirit). We do this through singing songs and hymns, through praying, through listening to sermons, and through declaring the truth of God's word to each other. We believe that our highest joy in life is found in praising our Creator and Redeemer and we want to invite you to experience that joy.

Expositional Preaching

We believe that the Bible is God's word and our only authority for faith and practice. Because of this we think that the content of sermons should be none other than God's word. This means that we preach through passages of scripture, and that the main point of the passage is also the main point of the sermon.

Skeptics Welcome

Whether you grew up in the church, or know virtually nothing about Christianity,we want you to know that there is a place for you at FBC. If you believe Jesus is the Son of God, or if you're skeptical about the idea of faith, our church is a community where you can come as you are and ask any questions you have without fear of being judged. Christ calls us to love the Lord our God with not only our heart and soul, but also our mind. And we believe following Jesus is both spiritually and intellectually compelling. So, wherever you land, spiritually speaking, we'd love to meet you.

Kids at First

Public worship on Sunday is at the center of what we do as a church, and so we encourage families to worship together with their kids if at all possible. For families with younger children, we know this is not always possible. In this case, we offer Sunday School for children ages 1-4. We ask that your children remain with you for worship until the sermon. At that time they will be dismissed, with several volunteers, for a time of Bible teaching and fun!
