Pastor Jonathan Chechile

Jonathan grew up in Southern Vermont and attended Cornerstone University and Gordon-Conwell (M.Div. 2008).

He has been married for 13 years to his amazing wife, Veronique, a graduate of Gordon College, who is best known here in Medfield for her role as the Storytime lady at the Medfield Public Library. They have three wonderful kids. Joseph (his ten-year-old cub scout) and Amélie (his precocious six-year-old), and Calvin (His budding theologian).

He has served as the Senior Pastor and Replanter of First Baptist Medfield since 2008, where he has worked to bring a return of gospel faithfulness and gospel witness.

In addition to his role as pastor, he is active in the community and region. Here in Medfield, he is involved in MCAP (Medfield Cares About Prevention), serves as Den Leader with the Cub Scouts, helps organize the Lowell Mason House Holiday Concert, and serves as the lead organizer of God Loves Medfield, a day of service and celebration here in Medfield. Regionally, he works with and the Public Square Forum seeking to foster renewal to the New England Church and is Ockenge Fellow at Gordon-Conwell.

Before Graduation, he served in a variety of ministry roles at FBC Reading, and worked an assortment of jobs, often at the same time, including Student Support at a public school education consortium, grocery store Assistant Manager, Marketing Researcher for a web design company, and Living Unit Coordinator at a home for at-risk teenagers.

As a native New Englander with roots that go back to the founding of Vermont, Jonathan longs to see the revitalization of the New England church and Revival in the Land of Edwards and the Puritans.

He is passionate about growing gospel-centered whole life disciples who live on mission for the glory of God in all of life and seeing churches deeply impact their communities.

When not working, he enjoys all sports Boston, hiking with his kids, reading, and a good cup of coffee.
